Plenty happening to Celebrate NZ Food in July

New Zealand food will be showcased throughout July with a range of initiatives planned for Buy NZ Made’s “Food Month”.

A feature of Food Month will be a nationwide promotion within FreshChoice and SuperValue supermarkets. Merchandising will adorn a range of products, with in-store posters, demonstrations, and themed mailers all set to play their part in creating a high level of exposure for New Zealand food producers.

FreshChoice and SuperValue Supermarkets are looking forward to celebrating all things Kiwi and will be highlighting NZ Made and NZ Grown products in all 58 stores. Being owned and operated by locals, FreshChoice and SuperValue fully supports local growers, producers and suppliers and is proud member of Buy NZ Made says Amanda Carmichael, Marketing Manager of FreshChoice and SuperValue Supermarkets. “We were delighted with the chance to profile NZ Made and Grown products in our supermarkets and are using this opportunity to continue to show our customers products from suppliers that support Buy NZ Made”.

To complement the supermarket promotions, Buy NZ Made will have a series of food competitions on Facebook, product features online, food and drink specials for the general public and a stand at the Auckland Food Show at the end of the month.

“It is a big few weeks ahead and it’s going to be fantastic to see how Kiwis embrace the initiative. Food is definitely something that is close to our hearts, and with so much variety and quality available, there’s no reason why NZ Made Food Month can’t become an annual fixture,” said Buy NZ Made PR and Marketing Executive Scott Willson.

“It really is a great time to be a New Zealand food business at the moment – the sentiment to support local producers is quite evident, and the reputation we have in many overseas markets is strong. Buy NZ Made Food Month is our way of tipping our hat to the many success stories out there and celebrating some of the things that makes our food industry so vibrant.”
