The BNZ – BusinessNZ Performance of Manufacturing Index (PMI) is a monthly survey providing an early indicator of levels of activity in the New Zealand manufacturing sector.

Holding its own – PMI

Manufacturing activity remained in solid territory during November, although the level of expansion eased back from the previous month, with a seasonally adjusted PMI for November at 55.2.

Staff wanted – PMI

Employment activity reached its highest level as the manufacturing sector continued to show stronger expansion during October, with a seasonally adjusted PMI for October at 59.3.

Rising stocks – PMI

The manufacturing sector experienced its fourth consecutive increase in expansion levels during September, with a seasonally adjusted PMI for September at 58.1.
