Max joined BusinessNZ in 2026 as an Economist, contributing across a broad portfolio of policy areas including tax, SME issues, compliance costs, regulatory frameworks, and AI technologies.
He supports the development of policy submissions, undertakes economic analysis, and works closely with stakeholders to ensure the business perspective is clearly represented in public policy discussions.
He holds a Master’s degree in International Business and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of Otago, as well as a New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Investment) from Otago Polytechnic. His academic work focused on corporate strategy, governance, and international markets, with a particular interest in the intersection of regulation, innovation, and economic performance.
